Circle of Champions

Academic Criteria for Circle of Champions:

• Grade in each core subject must be passing
• Must have S or higher in all other subjects

Attendance Criteria for Circle of Champions:

• Student must meet 90% state mandated attendance requirement
• Attendance criteria may be waived if absences are due to an emergency AND if approved by Circle of Champions Committee and/or Principal

Behavior Criteria for Circle of Champions:

• No more than 7 checks – student is out of Circle of Champions on the 8 th check
• No office referrals – if a student is sent to the office with a referral they are out of Circle of Champions

All students are expected to follow the Muleshoe ISD Code of Conduct and to follow rules established for the classroom, halls, cafeteria, playground, and bus.

Discipline cards will be issued to each student weekly. Students will receive a verbal warning to correct behavior. If student does not correct behavior a check will be placed on the student’s discipline card. The reason for the check will be given on the discipline card. Discipline cards will be sent home weekly, must be signed by the parent, and returned to the homeroom teacher.

One “ ” - Reason is given on discipline card.

Two “ ” - Reason is given on discipline card.

Three, Four, Five “ ” - Reason is given on card. Noon Detention is assigned.

Six and Seven “ ” - Reason is given on card. Noon Detention is assigned.

Parent must be contacted via phone or mail.

Eight “ ” - Student is out of Circle of Champions.

Notice is given to parent via phone or mail.

DeShazo staff will determine whether a “ ” will be given or student will be sent to the office.

An office referral will result in the student being removed from the Circle of Champions.
