Removing Items in Quarantine  

Once Symantec Antivirus catches a virus, it either deletes the file or moves it to quarantine. It is considered a best practice to occassionally delete files in quarantine. First, open Symantec Antivirus by double-clicking on the shield icon in your taskbar at the bottom-right of your desktop.

Next, expand the View folder and click on Quarantine.
Finally, click on the virus files listed in quarantine to highlight them (use shift+click to highlight several), and hit the delete button (red X) at the top of the screen. A box pops up prompting for an action. Simply click the Start Delete button. This will permanently remove the viruses.
