Teacher's assistant in Special Education for Content Mastery. I have been a T.A. for about 12 years. I began as a T.A. (tutor) in the Federal Programs Department. I tutored ESL students my first year at MHS. I was then moved from Fed. Programs to Special Education where I been working since.

About two and a half years ago I began attending Clovis Community College. My initial interest was to just back into educating myself. I soon realized that I wanted to become a Certified Teacher and teach Math. I am currently attending night classes two days a week at Clovis Community College. By December 10, 2003 I will have completed an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts. My Associate's degree in Liberal Arts will have allowed me to take most of all the basics I need towards my Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education. I plan to attend CCC one more semester then I will transfer to Eastern New Mexico University next fall. Upon completion of my degree I would like to teach Algebra I or II or Geometry.

On December 26, 2003 I will have been married for 11 years. My husband is Israel Mata and we have two children. Our daughter is Dominique, who is 10 years old and in the 4th grade at DeShazo Elementary. She is involved in Ballet Folklorico Dance and loves basketball. Our Son is Joshua who is 4 years old and does not yet attend school. He loves motorcycles and anything he can pick-up and throw.

Between work, family, and college, I do not have much time for anything else. If I do get some time for myself, I enjoy reading and watching law and detective shows. My favorite author is John Grisham and among my favorite television shows is "Law and Order". Most of my off time is spent with my family. I was born and raised here in Muleshoe and graduated from MHS in 1988. My parents both still live here in Muleshoe and a couple of my sisters and nieces and nephews also live here. We have many family get-togethers.

I guess this is all I can think of, Jenny. If you have any questions or would like to know anything else just let me know. R.Mata
